What can I do about an ingrown toe-nail?

It hurts to walk on and is a little swolen and pink.

It's on my left big toe and it's growing inward on the right side.

I don't have any insurance and can't go to the doctor and need to know how to fix it.

ouch they hurt. you def should get some clippers and cut the ingrown nail out...best way i have found to do it is to

soak my toe in water to soften it cause you have to try pull the skin back as much as you can to dig it out...its gunna really hurt but its worth it when its gone

cut it out
cut it off
Go for a Pedicure NOW.
ewwww, ouch. Soak your toe in warm water for 20 minutes then use a nail clipper file to pull the skin back, this may be painful. Clean the area with peroxide and when you find the end that is poking in your skin trim it off. Soak your toe in epsom salt to pull out the infection and pull the skin back every day till the nail grows past the skin. Don't cut them so short next time!
sorry, i don't do feet, toe nails, or ingrown ones!!

it's a phobia.
If it's just the tip of the nail that's swollen and not the whole entire side, then get yourself a professional toe nail clipper (not that flat ones, the pointy ones) and cut the leading corner out - that usually relieves it right away. Soak it in warm water and Epsom salts for 15min/day for 5 days. Cover it with Neosporin and a band-aid for the same amount of time and hope it doesn't come back. If it's painful along the whole side of the nail - that wedge of nail procedure I described won't work and you'll have to go see the podiatrist to have a small procedure done. I understand you don't have insurance, but you don't want to be in pain all the time. Hope this helps!
try wire cutters, thats what i use on all mine.''
The only way is to cut away the grown portion that is pressing into the flesh. The festered tissue might have to be removed too if it is very bad.

For severe cases, the entire toe nail has to be removed.

After that, give it proper bandaging and antiseptic care. Do remember to sterillise your clipper before attempting the feat.
