all really depends on how your body takes to the surgery and how much if any damage is done to the nail bed and cuticle area..you would be surprissed at how your body will heal from things my daughter cut her thumb off from the knuckle up it was sewn back on she lost the nail a month later and 3 months later it grew back you cant even tell anything has happend
