My 2 years old boy's toe nail is falling off. What should I do ?

My little kid broke his toe nail a few weeks ago under a door. Since than the nail deformed and now it is about to fall. I can not see any new nail under the old one growing. What should I do ? Should I cut the nail ? Should I leave it and bandage the toe ? It is possible that no new nail will grow ?

It will fall off on it's own. If it bothers him you can clip it, otherwise just try to leave it be. You can put a bandaid on it to keep it from snagging and pulling if it's still a little attached. He will be fine. Kids lose nails all the time. I just answered a question earlier today just like yours, and my own children have had it happen as well. It's really not a big deal. When it does come off, you may want to keep a bandaid on it for a couple days because the area can be a little tender. Hope this helps. My 2 years old boy's toe nail is falling off. What should I do ?
When I was standing barefoot next to the garage door, my foot was hit by the door when a lawnmower slammed into it. It got pulled straight up in the air! The er docs yanked mine off after some anesthetic. They bandaged it with gauze and tape, and in about 4 weeks a new one began to grow in where the old one was. It happened when I was 13, and now I can no longer remember which foot it happened to! The e.r. doc said that 99 % of the time the nail grows back on its own. You should bandage it with gauze because if it snags on something, it will be wicked painful for him!
Go to a Podiatrist immediately. If you don't feel comfortable with this, go to his Peditrician so he can refer you to a specialist. It could be a disorder the same way it could be a natural reaction of the body rejecting something.
A new nail will grow. Let the old one fall off whenever it feels like...you can clip it if its uncomfortable for your son.
Go and see a doctor it could started to get worse there could be a so thing you need to put on it Do not cut it unless you see a nail growing under the skin
