oddly enough, it can happen if your toenails are extremely long and keep pressing up against your shoes. they will curve over your toes and grow inward. it's quite painful. try keeping your nails short.How do you get an ingrown toe nail???
You can get it from injuries like kicking a ball in soccer and the toe closest to the ball gets ingrown. You can get it by not cutting your nails properly--straight across. You can get it from wearing too tight of shoes.
Well if you cut your toenail too short it will get ingrown...No it is not a habit that people do to make it ingrown.
To help make it go away just put your foot in warm water and sprinkle salt in the water.
