I own a pitbull and he ripped his toe nail almost completely off what should i do?

Take him to an ER vet!!!

Was it his dew claw?I own a pitbull and he ripped his toe nail almost completely off what should i do?
Stop the bleeding first. If you have corn starch, or flour, put that on his toe till the bleeding stops. It'll feel VERY sore, but you can't do a whole lot about it. If the nail is hanging by a thread, it's best to cut it off completely since it's not going to be able to be put back on.

It's like us loosing a fingernail--it hurts like heck but it grows back. Give him some loving and let him know you know it hurts. Call the vet tomorrow morning and ask them, but really other than making sure nothing of the nail is still dangling and pulling on the toe, they can't do a whole lot about it. Usually the foot isn't bandaged, but left to air heal.I own a pitbull and he ripped his toe nail almost completely off what should i do?
This happened to my dog! I actually brought him to the vet and the vet told me this happens all the time. He cut the nail off but he told me in the future to leave it alone and it will fall off on its own and the dog probably doesn't even notice it. I was surprised by that, but i guess cut it yourself, bring him to vet, or leave it.
Pack flour into what is left of the nail to stop the bleeding and try your best to not allow him to lick/chew at the area. If this means you need to go out and purchase an Elizabethan Collar, go for it. You need to keep him away from the toe.

He will need to be seen at the vet so they can trim off any parts of the nail that have the potential of splitting (because this can cause further injury) AND for antibiotics. The LAST thing you want is for the nail bed and toe to become infected, trust me.

Don't be surprised if your veterinarian asks you to soak the foot in Epson Salts.

I wish you the best of luck!
You need to take him to the vet and have it taken off. You don't want him catching it on something and tearing it off. He may get it infected then you will have bigger problems and he is probably in some pain. This happened to my German Shep and the Vet just took it off and stopped the bleeding gave her an antibiotic shot and she was fine in about a week. Good luck
You've got to bring him to a vet.Since you can't get to a vet today ,bathe the foot in warm soapy water, flush with peroxide ,dry with a clean towel, and apply some ointment like Neosporin or Triple antibiotic ointment .Ask at a pharmacy if you don't have it.
My dog's never done that. Is he wimpering bleeding or screaming then take him to the vet. If not it's probably normal and he just wanted your attention so he ripped it off to get alot of it. But seriously take him to see the vet to make sure he is ok.
If it is bleeding put some Cayenne on the end (it won't hurt i have done it on myself) it is a new natural remedy. after you do that, gently file the end so it doesn't catch on anything and get worse. The nail will grow back.
Depending on how badly it's bleeding, you should take him to the vet. If it just fell off on its own, it should be fine and grow back itself.
If there is blood mix flour and water into a paste and apply it to the nail. It will harden and stop the bleeding
Any bad reactions. I reccomend if you think its bothering you and the dog to much. Take him to the vet.
Take him to the vet. It could get infected and he'll probably need an antibiotic.
Is it bleeding? Is he in pain? If so, i would take him to a vet!
Ya if i got shot in the face wat do i do??? duh take him to the vet
