My dog lost a toe nail and is bleading I was just wondering should I be worried?

I am sure that it got pulled off outside he probably got it caught on something. My dog lost a toe nail and is bleading I was just wondering should I be worried?
Relax, it will happen quite often. just try to stop the bleeding by holding something over the nail. It will stop and the dog will not bleed to death through the nail. If this were true, how would dogs (and wolves) survived without going extinct? What you should do in the future is get this anticeptic powder that you pack into the nail if it happens again. This plugs the nail and prevents infection. My dog lost a toe nail and is bleading I was just wondering should I be worried?
Definitely contact your vet. The toenail may eventually clot and stop bleeding on its own, but because the canine foot is a high-blood-supply area, the dog could lose a lot of blood in the meantime. The other issue is infection. There's not much they can do about the toenail itself, but until it heals/regrows, your dog is essentially walking on an open wound...your vet can get your dog on antibiotics and show how to wrap the foot to prevent contamination/infection.
yes, you should call a vet immediately. I have always heard that dogs can bleed to death if you cut their nails too close to the cuticle.
