I had a toe-nail fall off my big toe. How do I medically treat this? How do I medically treat a toe-nail that has fallen off?
ooh i had this happen to me last year. i dont know what happened with yours, but i had hurt mine and i told them not to take it off at the hospital. then it fell off a while later. just keep an eye on it, i will be tender but it shouldn't open or anything like that. you will get this weird kind of soft shell starting to grow, it will look funny haha. and that is your bodies temporary nail until the new one grows. this may take quite a while. i didnt think would grow back but it did.How do I medically treat a toe-nail that has fallen off?
Lulu, make certain there is no infection, angry-red in color, swollen. If there is no infection then you need to clean where the nail was with some Cleanse the area with a liquid anti-bacterial soap for cuts. Be certain to cover the nail area with some gauze and tape. This way nothing can rub up against it and irritate it. If you can wear an open toed sandal so it will dry up. I know the pain of this, my toenail was removed by playing shuffle board.
Good-Luck!
You don't, really.
If there is posibility of infection when your nail first falls off, you can soak your big toe in salt water every once in a while.
Other than that you just have to wait between 6 and 9 months for your new toenail to grow in.
