Do I have to wear the same colour nail polish on my fingernails as I do on my toe nails?

I prefer lighter shades on my finger nails and darker shades on my toes. Please qualify your answer with why.Do I have to wear the same colour nail polish on my fingernails as I do on my toe nails?
';Deep in thought'; is correct in saying that for formal functions, that your fingers and toes should match, especially if you have open toed shoes. Other wise any colours you wish is fine.

I saw a sales assistant with I think it was black nail polish on her toes, and bright red on her finger nails, but the tips were painted black, look rather trendy.Do I have to wear the same colour nail polish on my fingernails as I do on my toe nails?
yeah if the colors match or you wear shoes
No not really.... you just wear the color that you like or the color that looks good with your complexion.
This really depends on what thong you are wearing and what color it is.
No. Because this is the USA and you can wear whatever color you want wherever you want to wear it.

My nail polish on my hands is changed every week. The polish on my toes only gets changed once a month (or so). I figure if you're down there noticing that I touched it up instead of re-doing the polish, then you see what you see, get over it and get a life.
Brighter, more vivid shades look best on toes.

Lighter shades look best on fingernails.

If you wear a neutral on your fingernails, you can pair any color on your toes. If you choose a more vivid color, the same should be used on your toes, or at least stay within the same color family...i.e. pinks, corals, reds, etc
no you don't have to. hands and feet are different so it doesnt matter.
no, however if you are going to a formal event the same color, if not a close match is best. if you are just hanging with the friend then you can paint your fingernails green, and your toenails fire engine red, they are yours do what you like with them. :)

honestly i would d try to keep them close in color. have fun!
most people prefer to, but there is no law It looks just fine, maybe even better, but thats what I think. I do it.
Legally? Are you afraid of doing time in prison?
i do too i dont wear the same color on my toes i like ligher colors on my hands because dark colors dont look good on them?
No you do not, I like to wear darker colors and some bright colors like coral and bright red. on my fingers, and on my toes I like to wear fun colors like hot pink, blue, purple.
no
Matching fingernail and toenail polish is a big no-no in my opinion. Most magazines (such as Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Allure...) agree. If fingernails are short, bright or dark colors are perfectly fine--but if they are long then it just looks tacky. So, keep long fingernails a neutral or pale shade--or do a french manicure. On toenails, anything goes. Right now I have my toes painted metallic orange-red and my fingers are pale, shimmery pink. The colors should compliment each other, but not match.
you dont have to wear the same color on both but you have it right lighter on nails and darker on toes.
As a guy... I like no polish or a pastel with a design on the pinky finger with only the color on the rest....Any reds ,blues or oranges on the toes...but if you wear sandals or flip flops they should match your fingers base color.
No, you don't. I once read in a magazine that these guys thought it was sexy when this woman was wearing a light, demure color on her nails but bright red on her toes. It's like the naughty librarian appeal - proper at first glance but passionate underneath.
I go clear on my hands and dark on my toes because that's what I like!

My nails on my hands get chipped too easily with all the typing and farm-work that I do... but I love wearing open-toed shoes and I don't like the way my toes look when they aren't painted. :-D

Go with what you prefer-- that way you'll be comfortable. And being comfortable in how you look is what its all about!!
No but it looks best when the two colours compliment each other. I tend to use a bright color on my toes for open toe shoes. I use a more nuetral color on my hands so it will match more things I wear.
They are your nails...you can do whatever you want to them:) I tend to usually do the same though lighter colors or french manicure on my fingers and darker colors on my toes.
yes....of course you slob!!!! how dare you even think to ask such a proposterous assanine question!
