I always have nail polish (usually red) on my toe nails, but over the years, the nails themselves are starting to have deep creases and craters on top, as if the polish were eating away at the surface. Is this possible, or is it probable that it's just a fungal infection and I need to get some prescription medication. Thanks! Why does nail polish seem to eat away at my toe nails?
Darling I think you should do two things.
1) stop painting your nails for a few months and allow your toenails to replace themselves, keeping them trimmed as usual
2) after your shower, slather your feet and toes with either vaseline or a nice body oil and massage it in.
the state of your nails (finger and toe) are often a sign of your overall health darling. If your fingernails look healthy, but your toes look as you've described, they are either moisture deprived or you may have a fungus. Either check with your doctor or your pharmacist if you suspect any health issue more than loss of moisture. Why does nail polish seem to eat away at my toe nails?
I suggest use an anitfungal medicine!!! Prior to putting on the nail polish!! My nail salon uses Bio Essential Anti-Fungal from Source Vital and it seems to work better then lamisil!!!
I hope this helps have a great day
It may be b'cause you wear socks and shoes. Your feet get sweaty like everybody's. There is a ';nail polish'; that help what your talking about (it repairs nails).
Hope this helps
